Newbie Q: A6 MMI satnav update?T

Hi I am now the proud owner of an '05 3.0 A6 Avant which is fairly highly spec'd. On the MMI Sat Nav (I have the DVD gear in the side of the boot) how do you update this to 2008 - is this teh same dvd as the RNS-E dvd.

Will it update the MMI & will I need a pin number?

any help would be great thanks.

You need an MMI disk, not RNS-E

The software on the disk will update the NAv system only. If your car is 05, then I'm guessing the MMI will be quite old. You can get it updated to the 2007/8 spec and add stuff like 3d map views etc.

Check your current MMI version, press "CAR" and then "VERSION", read off the top line.

It should looks something like this 'D3-HU 6300 12.0.0 0513' although this is an A8 and the software from this line is 1200.

The latest A6 software is 5150.
