Replacing head unit on TTR

I'm in the middle of replacing the head unit on our TTR - putting in a Sony unit which I had in a cupboard.

The sound is SO much better than the standard Concert, even though its using the stock speakers!

Thing is, I'm having a ****** awful time trying to get it to fit into the dash, the main problem being that the fitting bracket that comes with the unit seems marginally too big for the hole in the dash!

Has anybody else had this problem? What did you do to solve it?

Doubt it. The interface for driving a Sony changer with an Audi HU looks pretty elaborate, so it looks like it's not just a wiring job. So to do it the other way around would be pretty impossible.
You can get Sony changers really cheap on ebay (about £50), so you could sell your Audi changer and make a profit.
