The temporary speaker cable so that I can at least have sounds in the car off of the Head Units internal amp :-

And last of all the bundle of cables waiting for the amp rack build :-

The kit list is :-

Alpine DVA-9861Ri IPod Full Speed
Alpine PXA-H600 Processor (linked Optically and AI-Net from the HU)
Alpine PDX-4 150 (Running the Focals Bi-Amped)
Alpine PDX-1 1000 (Running the subs)
Focal Utopia Componants (Series 1 but with TN-52 Tweeters)
Elemental Designs 7KV.2 subs (Dual 2Ohm versions).

I now have loads of bruises and cuts on my hands and so far the only trim casuality is a couple of clips on the footrest.

I recond that I have probably a couple of days work left to build the amp rack. I will also eventually (when I get a cable through) use the centre speaker for my car kit.

It is a very solidly built car though.

great progress pics and what you have done so far is spot on! i am liking the tweeter builds on yours too - simple but effective!

keep us up to date! :D

I will keep the camera handy when the boot build starts tomorrow.

I will be spending a bit of time using the router (sp) first to get a perfect circle for the base and lid.

Impressive work so far... liking the tweeters aswell... keep the pics coming:thumbsup:

Great work, are there really no stock tweeters in the front doors of the 8P?

Where did you put the power cable through the bulkhead?

What gauge cable is it? I have a 4gauge cable I need to get to the battery from the boot but have failed to find a suitable location yet

DSG model so I used the redundant clutch hole in the firewall.

Ah ******, no use to me then lol, cheers anyway

Does AutoLeads or one of the other places make adaptor rings for the 8P yet? Or does one have to still make them yourself?

How is your install going, all finished? How does it sound?

Been a bit busy, but the amp rack did get built but I didn't get round to any pics.

I've since gone active on the fronts and have upgraded the Alpine processor to a H701 and so I can have the fronts active. The boot build is a bit messy at the moment due to the change over of processor. I also discovered that the felt ICE type carpet doesn't like it if you get too close with a heat gun (used to shrink the heatshrink sleaving that I used for the speaker cable joins when I went active).

So I need a long weekend to re-cover and modify the amp rack.

I also need to do a load of tweeking but the front stage does sound great.

I wouldn't bother with plastic speaker mounts, I just ordered some pre-made up MDF rings from EBay. Needed to glue and stick two together to get the required depth.

Are you building your own Parcel shelf too or buying one off the shelf? If so would like some as i am keen to change mine but keep the rear sun visor.

I kept the Audi one.

I only have an active 2 way front stage no rear speakers connected to the Alpine install.

10" Sub in the boot though.

are the speakers running 2ohm making it impossible to put a different headunit in with them? is there a space in the bulk head 4 cables?
