Why do people pull down the windows before removing the front door cards? Is there a reason why this has to be done?

No, we just like doing it.
Seriously, the doorcard clips over where the window rises & falls, and the window rubber is part of the door card so to remove the doorcard with the window up is much harder.

Oh rite thanks for that. Thats what i will do next time. I assume you leave the window down when putting the door card back on to?
