Multi function steering not working! 'Can-L wire loose'?

Hi there, wondering if anyone could help, just fitted my phatnoise system, and now the multifunction steering is not working. To fit the phatnoise, all i needed to do was to fit the cd-changer plug in, and so have not disconected (knowingly), any other cables.

I have noticed that there is a yellow wire that goes into the 'Can L' was stuffed in there with a bit of electrical insulating tape and is loose, ( i suspect the guy who fitted the handsfree kit at my company HQ to be the guilty party).
    Would this be the cause?
    Cheers
    Edward

No Cd- changer before, so just inserted the cable/plug into the appropriate slot which was empty. So did not have to touch any of the other cables.

i dont think the phatbox is at fault then as you did not have a changer to prove the wiring is ok.
