how are you fixing sub to car?

i saw some on ebay ok to fix to the sub box would be fine but wont it come off from the carpet?

all my boxes ive ever built have never moved once they have carpet on them that provides enuff friction to the boot carpet so it dont move anywhere
it should be mounted firmly (NOT VELCRO)
there have been a number of people killed by simply not mounting there audio system correctly
the damage these do when in a crash at 30mph is unbelieavable

if you use the industrial velcro supplied by B&Q you will be fine - im a strong guy and sometimes i had to get the feet up to pry the sub box off the velcro - it will be fine!
you could drill 2 or 3 screws down through the inside of the sub box but up to you

I'd be interested to know how my velcro'd box would fight it's way out of a totally enclosed boot space in my B5 A4 in the event of an accident.

I've got mine wedged up against the rear seats (from the boot ofcourse) and have a lil small section of carpted wood that rests at the bottom from the other side not sure if that really makes sense lol. anyway even with that if I have a launch at the lights it sometimes SMAHSES face down which isn't nice so make sure u secure it

did from a crash at 30mph (this was done under test conditions )
it smashed straight through the backseats EVEN THOUGH THEY HAD BEEN LOCKED IN PLACE and smashed the windscreen of the car
just imagine what an average subbox with a good woofer would do to a human being ??
a saloon would probably come off better than an avant would but
velcro isnt really sufficient enough to hold even a small subbox
a better method would be to use some of the cars actual own mountings to fix the subbox down this way it stands a lot better chance of remaining intact in the unfortunate event of an accident
so as not to just protect the passengers but protect the actual equipment itself from damage

Agree with dualmono21 here. Needs to be bolted down.
Velcro will do S**t when you come to a sudden stop. In fact you ain't driving hard enough if it stays in place with velcro on normal driving :lol:
A sub is much more efficient at producing bass if it's solidly mounted.
Plus, as an added advantage if you bolt it down tight to the car, you'll get more of that pleasing bottom tickling low bass coming through the car.

the cylinder thing is a powercap it acts like a battery stores power for the system to stop draining the car battery
there is enuff friction from the box carpet and the boot carpet so it doesnt move
