I have an A3 currently fitted with a JVC KD SHX701. It's been wired up by a local garage, who have acted like monkeys and started snipping wires and all sorts.
Long and short is that overnight the AMP or HU runs the battery down totally flat and thus the car won't start!

does anyone have any ideas as to what the monkeys have done?

cheers in advance! :icon_thumright:

The only thing that would run the battery down that quickly would be if they've wired the remote turn on for the amp to a permanent live i.e. the amp is always on. Easy enough to check, just have a look to see if the amp turns on/off with the HU. If it does then they must have done something really bodgy. Does the HU switch on/off with the ignition? or do you have to turn it off manually?
They may also have wired in an antenna adapter to power the Audi's aerial. This could also be wired up to be permanently on and ultimately drain the battery. Not so easy to check though without pulling the HU out.
Can you pull the HU and take a photo of the wiring while still connected?
