Subwoofer preout on Concert II

I bought a 56 plate A3 a few weeks back and finally took the headunit out at the weekend. I was surprised to see only preouts for the front and rear but not for the sub. How is the sub connected to the headunit?

It runs off the rear pre-outs. Only the rear pre-outs are fed to the amp in the boot and this amp runs both the sub and the rear speakers. The front speakers run off the HU speaker out.
On the Bose system the sub runs off left front and right rear pre-outs (or vice versa) so at least you still get sub power when fading to the front.

Thanks for the reply. I faded the sound all the way to the front as soon as I got the car but am sure I still had the sub making some noises. I have the non Bose setup.

The amp is hidden on the right hand side of the boot for the rear speakers and sub, is it not?

It should be inside the sub enclosure itself on the lefthand side, unless they've changed the design, not sure on the latest models. Definately inside the sub on 8L A3's.
