Speaker options

I have just fitted a JVC KD-LHX601 Head unit to my 2002 Allroad and am looking at replacing the factory speakers with something a little better.

The factory Sub worked with the After-market Clarion thet the JVC replaced but does not work with the JVC. No great loss i know, but, i do notice the difference without it.
I guess i would need 2 pairs of component speakers for the doors and possibly a Sub. If i go for a Sub it would have to be a compact one such as these.

Could anyone recommend some speakers that will replace my originals without too much hassle and are these Subs any good?

I don`t actually know the size of the original speakers but i guess they are 13 cm?

Any help/advice would be appreciated. I have not set a budget but as long as i don`t have to sell a kidney i am open to suggestions and await your expertise.

The rears and the sub worked from the same RCA leads into the rear out of the Clarion, on the JVC i get rears only on the rear-out and Sub only on the Sub out. The wiring is not pretty though as i think the previous owner was Edward Scissorhands.

I think i may rip it all out and start again.

The Sub does work with the rear speakers but as you said , it is hardly noticeable.

I have just ordered 2 pairs of the Infinity Reference 6510cs from Ebay for £138 including delivery, thought this was a good deal.

I will probably go to see a specialist and gain some advice on a Sub and possibly an Amp and will no doubt end up paying them to install the speakers. My scaffolders hands are O.K for removing the trim but useless at piecing it all back together again lol.

After a bit of arguing with some interior panels and plenty of good old Anglo Saxon i will be installing the speakers myself and i will also be adding a
Vibe CBR12 active Sub.

I will power the 4 door speakers from the H/U as i think it will be more than capable and the addition of the Sub will hopefully make for a half decent system. I`m not after eardrum shatterring sound levels, just good clean crisp sound.
