ive got an alpine 5 channel amp for my stealth system in my b5 a4 - the 5th sub channel has a bass boost of 0 to 6db - question is, what does this do? is it flat gain cos there is already an input gain control so this would seem pointless, or does it have an unequal boost below a frequency?

the manual doesnt say anything at all!

i would think it is a boost at a paticular frequency only something like 50hz for example

Like dummi said its a boost at a preset frequency. The specs sheet should tell you what frequency that is, usually 45 or 50Hz.

It's normally used for cutting a specific frequency, are you sure it doesn't run from -6db to 6db?

there is a switched sub limiter at 15 or 30hz and a bass boost variable control 0-6db but no mention in the manual about what it does
