8P A3 with Bose stereo upgrade

I have a 2005 A3P with Bose fitted and I want to improve the stereo.

I know with the old style A3 it was pretty painless to upgrade the sub to improve the sound is it easy to do with the 8P? And more importantly is it a worthwhile upgrade.

I want improved sound but not keen on loosing boot space and going to OTT
