Should the iPod connector from the standard head unit charge the iPod?

I have a connector in the glove box that I plug my iPod mini into, but it doesn't charge from the unit - is this Normal?

You'll need an adapter cable to move the charging pin to suit the newer pin allocation.

I see - it says in the manual that charges, but it currently doesn't.

Are you able to provide? Is it simply a case of changing the cable between the HU and adaptor 'pod'?

I'm looking for the adapter cable also, asked Audi about it and they thought the ipod connector in the Audi should charge the ipod (it doesn't). Anybody got any links or a part number?

Is it an actual cable, where the glovebox has to be removed? or does it fit onto the ipod connector?
