Ive checked the search to no definative answer. My concept head unit in my a4 on a 57plate, last week decided to make the ipod dock become a bit hit and miss. Has worked fine with my iphone 4&5 until last week. Then the cd player decided to stop working and wont eject the disc. Does it mean my HU is fubared?

I would try powering it all down & leave for 5 minutes & then back up again, also disconnect the ipod dock temp, to see if this is causing any issues down the line.
Well assume its the double din chrome knob unit?
If its goosed then depends what you want out of the head unit, if you're ok as is, then swap for same unit I guess mate, upgrading to rns may give you degraded antenna reception unless you swapped some parts over at same time as rns.
