Hi, I have fitted a 2012 RNS-E (part no. 8P0 035 193G) into my wife's 2010 A3 cabriolet.

The car had AMI in place from new but now I've added the RNS-E it can't seem to connect to the iPod - just seems to be stuck trying to read it or
something.

Any ideas how I could get it to work?

Thanks

AMI in place from new? are you sure? Without navigation the car would have come with Ipod dock, not an AMI. Easy way to tell the AMI has a cable and a slide out drawer. The Ipod dock just has a built in connector for the Ipod and it slides into it.

Ipod docks are not particularly good with later Ipods / Iphones

Ah - that might be my mistake. Certainly sounds more like iPod doc. Should that be a problem linking with RNS-E?

The Ipod dock doesn't work with some Ipod/Iphones at all, some it plays music but doesn't charge and older ones it's fine for both. You should see it under MEDIA as a the 6 CD's. If you have put in an RNS-E and not coded it then it might be showing an AMI that doesn't exist.
