I've spent most of this afternoon trying to take the single DIN cage out of my 2004 A4 to upgrade it to a Double Din unit to enable retro fitting of SatNav unit.

I've removed the following:

- Radio
- Heater Controls
- Ash Tray
- Tray behind Ash Tray

I've then un-done every bolt in the cage but nothing seems to want to move. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I've removed the Glovebox to see if there is anything else which was anchoring the cage in - but couldn't see anything.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Many thanks

Remove the center console, unbolt that and slide it backwards.

Then remove the single din cage.

When you say the centre console, is that secure by those bolts covered in the footwells?

Plus is there anything else needing removal?

Does the Centre Console secure at the top under the trim above the Hazard Lights?

Many thanks

I think 6 bolts for the console and 1 for the arm rest, maybe 2 more under the gear leaver cover.

I did a cabby a few months back, but I cant remember how many I had to remove.
