Cullmann cradle for Audi Phone prep Low - What do the buttons do?

Kind of linked in with another post of mine as my Mic doesn't appear to be working. Is there a way to mute the microphone on this system using either of the two cradle buttons?

One has a phone icon which I use for making, receiving and ending calls. The other has a spanner icon which I'm unsure of.

I just want to make sure I haven't inadvertently muted the microphone somehow.
