i have a concert headunit a 1998 model, i tried removing it yesturday with some strips of alu but i couldnt get the ****** out, are the audi keys a special shape?

They are indeed, halfords or ebay if you want a det of your own, dealer or other place might just take it out for free though if you ask nicely.

I managed to do mine with 2 blades from a jigsaw - too much faffing about - it worked, but I had to be very careful not to slip and scratch the dash.

Just be careful you don't ****** the metal clips as they're pretty delicate and can easily jam the unit in there. Be gentle.

Yes but Dean remember the sense of satisfaction when you finally managed to get the b4stard out? Wasn't it worth it?
