How to test OE CD changer in a6?

Hi peps,

Was wondering how to test the original 6 disc cd changer in my 98 A6 as i'm looking at selling it to fund some new subs as mine has blown! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I bought the car with a new 10 disc sony changer fitted and i have no original head unit to test it with.

Also don't know anyone with an audi to test it on.

Any help much appreciated.

hmm ... only way i could say is to test it in another audi.
try pretending to buy one and say ya wanna test the head unit in it works by plugging your changer into the lead behind the panel in the boot!
you could also get it bench tested but would prob cost a bit to do.

yeah, i dunno if they wud take an 18 year old seriously about buyin another Audi!

Also had a though, will it be the same on other VAG cars? i got a mate who works for VW and i may be able to test it on sum of there cars?

Also anyone in north somerset/ Weston-s-mare area who i cud meet with just to test if it works?

My district manager has an A4, hmmm............ I wonder if they are the same? and overall if they will let me mess with thier company car! lol

yeah will be more than likely be the same on the A4.
As for VW, think they have a different connector.

Same on A4 as long as it is 98 onwards with the 13 pin plug, not the 8 pin.
