Thread: £80 for HU install?

Just been quoted £80 to fit Sony DSX-S300BTX into my A3 8P with the single DIN Concert II with ISO fitted

The fitting company said " You've got an active system so you will need a module for all speakers to work with the Sony unit.

The price for the module , antenna and installation = £80"

Does that sound right for parts needed and fit price?

You need a wiring adapter, antenna amp adapter and fascia plate which all in is about £25-£30, and half an hours labour. £80 is a bit steep unless that includes a CANBUS emulator to give you auto switch on/off with the ignition, which is unlikely as they are around £55 just for the part.

How does it sound?
Have you kept the stock speakers?

Are you also having to fade quite a bit to the rear to get the hear the rear speakers. What settings have you got it on to get it to sound perfect?
