Thread: Upgrading door speakers in a3 8l non-bose

As the tittle says guys...

How do i go about upgrading the door speakers in my audi a3 8l??

Im going to invest in one of the andymac stealth subs. Just want some door speakers that are clearer and can handle abit more volume!

Any recommendations wouldnt go a miss on speakers either please

I wouldn't bother until you've added the sub. The stealth sub not only adds proper punchy bass & mid bass but it also free's up the cabin speakers from trying too hard, as you run the HU on -2 to -4 on the bass setting. So you can drive them harder without the distortion you are getting at the moment. You can spend quite a bit of money on the speakers and the required MDF fitting adapters and the result is still not much of a discernable improvement as the speakers are driven by a puny 20w (peak) per channel and the speakers are hanging off a flimsy door card loosely clipped to the doors. Go down the sub route first and then see what you think.
