Audi A3 Car Door Components....Ideas??????

I've got and Audi A3 3 door model 8P at the moment and i want to upgrade the front door speakers. The headunit and everything else is getting sorted. What will fit in that front door? I know 5.25" is the biggest diameter but what about depth. It has come to my attention that the better components have a greater depth.

Does anyone know how much room there is in the door for a speaker?
Will Alpine X-Types fit in there?
What will fit in there?
What can i do to make things fit?

Any and all help would be really really useful!!

im running 6.5" front and back..

depth wise depends.. you can bring it forward more with a bit of creativity and so allows you to get more depth.

What components are your running?
How do you get the pannel off so i could have a look?

Well, I just took a screw driver to my door speaker panel and got it off. In mine the front and back are both 5.25". The screws are star screws, anyone know how to get them off? Where can you get the screw driver from?

I will be running 6.5" in my old style A3, but I will be making some doors builds to fit them.

Halfords are your best bet. Not expensive.
