bad earth? noise on MW/LW.

I get interference when using MW/LW. I suspect it may be a bad earth somewhere in the circuit for the rear window aerial amp/booster. (I get alternator whine, plus noise from other electrical circuits)
Does anyone know of common causes/locations of possible bad wiring or bad connectors for this circuit?

the car is a 1994 100 C4 body.

Thanks AndyMac, I managed to source the problem about half an hour before reading your post... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif (the aerial amp is behind the rear quarter window covers, the bolt holding the amp to the body was loose, this must also act as the earth since the problem seems solved now that the bolt is tight... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif )
