Thread: Disconnect battery when fitting a Dension?

I haven't got the stereo code for my 8P1 and I've got a dension gateway 100 to fit. Is it necessary to disconnect the battery to do this job?

No not at all, they always say that. Doesn't matter on your car anyway, later Audi's with CANBUS head units don't require the code after disconnecting the battery. The code is only required if the HU is moved to a different vehicle.
