Changing HU in A6

Hi all

I want to change my HU to allow for an external amplifier but Ive been told that changing an audi concert HU can be quite difficult. Can anyone shed any light on this for me?

I thought to run an external amp rca's were needed, for a subwoofer, not just pre outs?

RCA's are just the name for the type of plug used (phono type plug like you get on the back of a home stereo system), pre-outs are the pre-amp output from the HU that are needed to feed the signal to the amp. So all you need is an RCA cable with one end chopped off to allow you to hook into the pre-outs already going to the rear amp and a length of cable to pick up the remote on.
