chorus cd player, fader???

I recently purchased an 08 plate a3 ,1.9 tdi specail edition. its got a standard chorus single cd player in, i cant find a fade setting to activate the rear speakers as there is no sound coming from them at the moment. ive checked the manual and ther is nothing on it. Ther is rear speaker cases, but it has made me wonder if ther is any rear speakers fitted inside? if any1 can help me i would be greatfull as i dont have a clue
