    White smoke is water, blue smoke is oil, black smoke is fuel.

    Best bet would be to make sure its def the turbo then get a specialist to inspect it. I'm sure having yours reconditioned is only about £250 so prob not worth messing about

  2. Audi A3 2.0 Tdi Sportback

    Hi All,

    I've got an 06 reg A3. In Dec 08 I had The software updated as Audi diagnosed this as the fault of the car periodically not starting. Just prior to this they also re-programmed the key fob as this sometimes/sometimes not chose to open the central locking. Alls been well until now when the key fob works sporadically and today the car wouldn't start. Funnily enough, once I put the key in the door lock, and turn it the fob then works. Are these 2 issues linked foes anyone know. ...

  3. Used Audi Extended Warranty!

    Hi All
    I bought an '06' A3 from Exeter Audi in Oct 2008. At the time there was an offer of '2 years free servicing or an extended Warranty'. I took the warranty because the finance was over 2 years and it made sense to have the Warranty over the same period.

    The car has been in the garage 6 times for repairs, 3 new turbo's, a new dashboard, engine rebuild (after only 52k miles), faulty quattro system. Last week it broke down again and i called Audi, who told me that my Warranty ...

  4. A3 1.8 Sport Automatic 5 door

    Any one offer any advice on this car. I'm looking at buying a 02 plate with 104k on the clock. Can anyone offer any tips, how is the engine/gearbox on a car of this age and this milage. I know the diesel is pretty bullet proof, is the petrol as good? Any recommendations, tips, what to look out for would be appreciated!!!
