Thread: milltek downpipe

item no. msau158 it is a milltek downpipe for my a4, could you tell me if this will fit my standard exhaust.

Hi mate
The majority of people do the cat back system first then do the downpipe
The cat back has a reducer on it so it will fit the downpipe
But it will not do it the other way round
The exhaust and downpipe are different diameters you see to standard exhausts so I would say do cat back then do the downpipe and cat

The downpipe is after the cat, so the downpipe is the same size as the exhaust........

It's rather misleading of Milltek to call the system a cat-back as thats not EXACTLY what it is... The system starts at the end of the standard downpipe not at the end of the cat and to fit your downpipe will need a stepdown adaptor (supplied). The Milltek downpipe/system is 2+3/4 inch diameter where your standard system is only 2 inch hence the adaptor... The milltek system is designed to be usable with the standard downpipe but the milltek downpipe is designed only to be used with the milltek system!

If you are looking for a replacement standard downpipe i'm willing to sell you mine as i have a stainless system and need a milltek downpipe for it...
