It has been a long day but finally got my pictures sorted of collection day from the dealer.

Quite an experience and one I have very much enjoyed. Got to say Huddersfield Audi did an excellent job, especially Andrew Wilkinson who dealt with my order from start to finish. Was made to feel very welcome and the car got the unveiling treatment on the shop floor which was pretty cool. Even got a bottle of bubbly.

I was a bit nervous driving it the first few miles, mainly because the amount of gadgets this car has and oh my the S-tronic gearbox is an absolute dream. It's just such a relaxing car to drive especially compared to my previous cars and even the wife (who hates the thought of me and cars) loves the car, even so she had a drive of it and loves the engine note.

Still plenty of playing around to do with gadgets but here are the pics, enjoy.

Really lovely looking car, your daughter is looking a little too longingly at the champers for my liking!

Could you take a closer pic of your footwell please? Want to see the pedals.

Car looks gorgeous Rich. Glad to see they treated you properly up at Huddersfield; full VIP treatment is always a great finishing touch.

Did you let them clean it or have you got that job to do yourself?

Oh nice, will be looking forward to seeing pics of your RS4. When I went on the Wednesday to see my car for the first time there was a 14 plate S3 in sepang blue and it looked epic.

Ha yes she liked the bottle jacket, must be a new colour to her she hasn't seen before. I will get some pics of the pedels for you this morning. They are a new addition on the B8.5 and quite a nice finishing touch

Yea it was nice and shiney for collection, was a bit worried after the pic scotty posted of the one on detailing world that looked like it had been washed with a brillo pad. In the boot I had the Autoglym package which he threw in free. I have done a big visual inspection with my LED torch (people think i'm crazy when I do this but it will show up imperfections in the paintwork) and not a mark on the paint and swirl free. So all I need to do now is break out my Swissvax shield and give her a good detail (if this crappy weather disappears). Have you booked in yet at DMC?

One thing to note that this engine is so underrated. It is one hell of an engine, so smooth and coupled with the S-tronic gearbox makes any Audi fitted with this engine a bit of a dark horse. Looking forward to reaching the run-in milestone so I can give it some proper beans.

Now rain, please please please please go away so I can fit my AWE intake and supercharged badges

Cracking car Rich and pleased the dealer has not scratched it! Also agree with the others, your daughter is definitely after the booze! :) Very jealous of all you guys with the Super Sports Seats, they look so comfy. I would have loved them but had to keep the options list short.

Car looks awesome mate, hope you're pleased.
There's a few little differences I've notice, the black edition window trims are now gloss, on my current car they mat.

Agree Keef, gloss window frames are mint, don't look so faded.

Rich, has this engine gotta be the most underrated engine in the Audi line up. I love the sound of the V8, but this V6'T' is a peach.

you will love it once you can put your foot down in it. I have a 2010 S4 Avant. Best family car i have ever owned :icon_thumright:

The power is immense and it is so smooth. The rasp of the exhaust when you change close to red line is such a lovely sound. My warranty run's end of June and will then be looking at mods. Would be good to know how the AWE intake sounds and performs. I replaced the stock filter with the pipercross one as it was cheaper than the audi paper version. lol

Oh one recommendation for you would be to get the covers that go under the car seats. As my 3 year old and 1 year old make a right mess and it is lot easier to just take the chair out and shake the cover off. I didn't have this before and the actual seat would mark the leather. check this out. worth every penny http://www.amazon.co.uk/Diono-Super-Mat-Seat-Protector/dp/B005O6FY24/ref=sr_1_11?s=baby&ie=UTF8&qid=1400831495&sr=1-11&keywords=car+seat+protector

cheers

How was day 1 Rich?

Apart from the horrible damn rain, it was pretty good. Been getting used to the different gearbox modes, the paddles are great to use too.

It is looking very dirty at the moment and managed to clock up 80 miles. The start-stop on this car is very eager, there are a few times where I've disabled it because it comes in at silly times like at roundabouts

The seats, so glad I changed my order for the SS, driving the car all day and have felt very very comfortable

Thanks for the pic rich... I've seen loads of different types of foot pedals all over the place and I'm trying to decide which to get to brighten up the footwell a little.

Excellent taste about the Supercharged badges :)

It wont be long before you get into the routine of pressing that button every time you set off!

I am going to turn mine off once I have done a good search through every likely adaptation and coding.

From shak?

Lovely car and yes very understated, remap sees you on par with b8.5 rs4, lots of potential with just a map on these I believe as it's a detained FI.

P.S my local dealer ;)

No from Tom. Top bloke different from the Muppet I first ordered from at Kings Lynn who told me to leave him alone for 2 months and stop asking for a build date. Cancelled my order and went with Tom.
BTW should I push them to throw in the iPhone cable or do they incl it anyhow. Taking the train 3hrs from London early Fri!

Few folk seem to be coming to Huddersfield Audi to get their cars, are they really that good?

I don't think it can be disabled with VCDS can it? Have been looking for it on the other half'is B7 Passat for a year with no luck. It's very annoying and purely to drop emissions/raise mpg in the lab by a little.

Yes they are. At least after my experience with 2 London based dealers and Kings Lynn.
It seems they employ older gentlemen so very friendly not pushy good discounts and timely updates.
Even replying on their day off on their mobile. Don't care they're 3hrs away from London. Next audis will be ordered from them.

Is that Shaks specialist cars in Huddersfield? When I was looking at used they had a black S4 prefacelift avant with most the toys except the super sport seats for 25k but was sold by the time I managed to find it.

I guess it is who you deal with at the dealers and out of my car buying experience Huddersfield Audi delivered above my expectations

Another thumbs down for start stop. All my passengers keep thinking I've stalled it!

Yes, as he's sells a lot of German whips and has some nice stuff in there. Know him quite well.
also good to know hudds Audi are one of the chosen ones, I'll mention it to them when I go in next, give them a boost uplift and make them happy (May even get something back :) )

Haven't had much time to tinker with the car, hoping to drop the new AWE air filter and intake pipe in to the car tomorrow evening (if the rain stays away), hoping I can get a vid up afterwards.

Had some slight trouble with the supercharged badges, the adhesive started to peel away on both sides where the square is for some odd reason. Made sure before I put them on the car that the area was free from polish/wax etc. Managed to get them to stick properly now after getting the air dryer on them and drawing out the horrible rain we have had.

Hey Rich, Did you get the AWE fitted? Whats it like? Any improvement? Also any idea where the carbon version of the supercharged badges can be sourced? Was after the OEM ones. Also does anyone have that template to fit the badges.

I don't know, they get these nice cars and then all they want to do is drive them, not share the feedback with people ;-)

Hi AFN

I got my carbon supercharged badges from main dealer - Part No: 4F0853601, £ 36.60 each.
They are special order so had to pay in advance and they took 10 days.

You can get them from German ebay stores, or fake ones for £5 from UK ebay

Template is here under fitting instructions:-

Audi B8 S4 Quattro 3.0T Search Badge - 4F0853601 - "Supercharged" Badge - Carbon Fiber - Priced Each - ES#391497

Brilliant thanks mate. Will get them ordered in. Need to change those V6T ones.

Not had chance yet mate. Been really busy at work and then when I get home the heavens have opened which is frustrating. Planning to *hopefully* have it installed Saturday lunchtime. I want to hear my supercharger whine.

LOL, I've managed to rack up over 300 miles already.

Just a note on the supercharged badges, there are various methods of getting shut of the V6T badges (i think it was benjies thread) but I used some Autoglym intensive tar remover to get rid of the residue and also strips off any layers of wax where you are to stick the badge. Although I had a few problems with mine coming away on both sides after application, I used the wifes hairdryer afterwards to heat them up and now they are solidly stuck on there.

I also dropped by Hudderfield Audi last night and they had a new Red RS5, White RS4 and a black SQ5 sat outside, tons of brand new cars being PDI'd and looked in the workshop as they were peeling off all the protective films. They must be shifting a fair few high performance models

Rich you ****** slacker, nice of you to put in an appearance!!! ;-)

You're beating me on the mileage front, I'm at 275. They rack up quick, but they'll be racking up quicker in a couple of weeks when I head to France.

Ha I know, I need to have some downtime already. France should be a good ride out in the motor just please promise me you don't get mashed up by any crazy french drivers.

I'm heading down to Spain on the 13th June, driving all the way there but taking the father inlaws Honda CRV, so the S4 is staying tucked away for 2 weeks
