    DPF on A4 B8 Facelift?

Hi folks. Just wondering if anyone knows whether an A4 B8 facelift 143 has a DPF?

I did some searching but seem to get mixed opinions.

Yes they do. 99.9% of new diesel cars now comes with one.

I've seen afew new TDI's having the DPF prep as in cannister fitted but no filter within it. The DPF option on a 140TDI was I believe an optional extra. Why anyone would want to tick the box and select it defeats me as what a waste of time. Worst invention on diesels.

Am I correct in thinking that DPF can be safely removed and mapped out?

Do you mean its safe to remove the internals of the existing DPF? If so is it easy enough to do its just my car is booked in this Friday for EGR delete and a APR remap just wondering wether I should get them to nock out the inside of the DPF whilst there at it and stage 2 map it.

Not just a simple case of removing the DPF.
It's wedged in quite tight, and getting it out is at least a full days work.

Mine was cut out in 3 pieces, and took 1.5 days because when they did one of the cuts, it went through a sensor bung and they had to wait for a replacement

Is well worth it in the end tho
