    Black edition alloys and spacers

    Hi
I'm new to the forum and this is my first post I've had a quick search about spacers not to sure how to figure it out lol there's plenty forums about spacers but I couldn't see a similar setup to mine I've got an a4 saloon black edition and want to ask if there's anyone got wheel spacers on there with standard s line suspension and if they could post a pic so I could see how it looks any help would be much appreciated ImageUploadedByTapatalk1387040362.079394.jpg

I actually started a thread also regarding wheel spacers but nobody seems to be interested in talking about them either that or they don't really know lol. I have 25mm on the rear with 18"x8j wheels they were fine with the standard suspension they brought the wheels out just enough but now it's been lowered it scrapes a bit if I were keeping the same wheels I would replace with 20mm.

Do you know the actual wheel size rather than the tyre size? Mine are 18"x8j ET47 it will tell you on the inside of the spoke on the wheel I'm unsure what the black editions are??

Looking in to it it seems your wheels should be but don't hold me to this 19"x8.5j ET43 so you would need smaller spacers depending on how far out you want to go. A good guide to go off would be something like, will they fit.com its for wheels but if you add in 5-10-15-20mm to your wheel offset it will tell you

I've just done it for you, if you wanted your wheels as far out as mine on the rear you would need 14.7mm spacers so 15mm or 12mm but if you are lowering I would go for 10 or 12 on the rear here's a pic of how I did it compared to mine

This is yours with 15mm spacers on its where mine is just adjust the offset down ie if you have et43 and want 10mm spacers you put the offset in as et33 use mine as an example if you need my tyre size is 245/45/18 et47 and you have the pics to go off for how it looks just have a play about on that site

To be honest no as that is 5.4mm further out than mine and you have bigger wheels to start with and if I hit a real big bump in the road I would get the odd scrape even with standard suspension.

Sorry my offset with my spacers is et22 I would say maximum for the rear would be 15mm but if you are lowering I would go for 10 or 12 mm rear and 8mm front to not scrape but you are not bothered about the odd scrape like I'm not lol I would not go anymore than 15rear 10front but I have lowered mine 50-60mm

lol i was just thinking that yours was 22 coz it says that on the pics lol i agree with 15 and 10 i might not lower it anymore its already 30mm lower on the sline suspension and i like it the way it looks just think it could use a more aggressive stance what mods have you done to yours besides lowering ?

I bought it off a m8 of mine for £100 he paid full price around £250 ish I think but sold his car so he had no use for it anymore. Personally I wouldn't pay that for one but they do have there uses once you get to know exactly what you are doing with them I have used mine on a few friends cars to check faults and clear faults. If I had the time I would like to have a real good play but I've done what I wanted to do with my car and it prob won't get used again only to scan for faults now and again and friends cars.

No not yet but I may well do that at some point, not sure if yours is a diesel but mine is and it had the dreaded notchy 1st & 2nd gears when cold as most seem to have but I've just replaced the oil in the gearbox for some lighter gear oil and it's cured it, it was driving me mad before so I had to give it a go.

No it's the standard oil I used the other grade that can be used its lighter why they don't put it in from standard I'll never know but it seems to have fixed mine anyway but its £20 a litre and it took 4.2 litres. There is another thread called manual gearbox stuff gear changes when cold have a read of that some time.
