My B8 Avant's first registered Aug 15th 2008 which makes it a 08 plate - I didn't realise it was such an early one.
I've always tried to avoid early models to dodge the glitches.... other the the Advanced Key sensors (that I've now all replaced) its been fine. Touch wood

I assume it was either stuck in a field somewhere or personally imported and declared new. When I checked the reg on the vehicle website it was registered in June 2009 if I remember rightly.
Not scientific, but this site shows 5 in 2009 and 2 in 2010 for the type of A4 I saw.
