Hi All,

Was driving car yesterday and MMI screen froze up, screen went blank but radio stayed on (even when removing key and locking doors)! Had to remove 7.5 amp fuse to turn radio off! Have now re-fitted 7.5amp fuse but all is dead. No screen display and no lighting on switches around gear shifter. I have checked all fuses located in Left & Right dash and Boot and they are all fine. I am also able to eject & load CD's in head unit.

Car is 2009 B8 MMI 2.

Anyones help would be gratefully appreciated :)

Get it scanned for faults as a priority - then clear and rescan.

when my other halfs went dead i left the fuse out for 24 hours on been to to do so by audi sheffield
and its been fine sinse
i did scan and no faults were there.

Or disconnect the battery for 30 mins and try again.

Hi Chris,

Was it the 7.5amp fuse you removed?

Do an mmi reset now fuse has been refitted & if no go, battery of for 2 minutes & back on, start car then test.

Just performed an MMI reset (setup, dial button & top right button) - No joy.

Also removed Batt lead for 5 mins - Still no luck!

So took the car into Audi today and they have come back saying theres a fault with J523 Display Unit! They need to investigate further! Anyone had or know about this please?
