Key fob problems

Hi,

My mate is having problems with getting into his car, it's an 08 A4 tdi.

The key fob and spare key fob both look to be working but won't open his car, he's having to use the emergency key in the drivers door to get in, all keys still work in the ignition though...

Any ideas if this is something we can sort or is it a dealer job ?

Has he replaced the battery in remote/keyfob?
They could need resyncing but strange both not working.

Have a similar problem with mine.but I have to open the door and put the key in ignition quickly before the alarm goes off. Been told i need to put 2 cr1620 batteries in mine. But not sire if that will solve the problem

I had similar issue has he tried putting key in ignition and turn to when all lights come on but do not start, then press lock unlock whilst keys still in should reset
