Hi There,

Have recently purchased a 58 Plate S-Line 1.8T Petrol A4 - am really enjoying it having come up from a W reg A3!!!

One thing I've noticed however is that I'm only getting around 18-19mpg for town running; looking at some threads I'm led to believe that the 1.8T can be a bit thirsty, but what I'm getting seems a tad bit extreme.

If any has any thoughts/suggestions to what the problem could be then please get in touch.

I don't know because I have a different engine than yours but I'd be expecting better than that!

I'm sure that Martin's B7 RS4 gets better than that he was saying!

We have 1.8T A4 and wife gets 38-42 on her 20 min A road commute to work, in city traffic when I have driven it to work then it drops down to high 20's early 30's.

I got 38 coming home last night on a 30 min run, A roads all the way back in mine. However around town it's anything from 14mpg to 25 depending on traffic. When it's cold it seems to burn fuel for fun, had 9mpg one morning as I spent most of the journey in 1st gear.
