FBMFSW for vehicle with dynamic steering

I wanted to fit a FBMFSW to my S4 but sadly it wasnt as straightforward as it first seemed.

My S4 has dynamic steering and this means that the factory steering wheel has flat spots and grooves at 3 and 9 oclock on the reverse of the steering wheel as shown in the following picture.

The replacement FBMFSW I purchased from eBay shown in the following picture does not have the flat spots and grooves therefore it does not fit. It seems all FBMFSW on eBay are like this and do not have the required flat spots and grooves for dynamic steering.

I have scoured ETKA to try and find the right part number for a dynamic steering compatible FBMFSW without success.

Can anyone of you help me please?

Meanwhile I have emailed Europrice in the US and HazzyDays in the UK for guidance.

I've been advised that the flat spots are not required, the wheel I have will work, it will just push the plastic tabs out the way in the vehicle. During initial fitment this did not feel comfortable at all.

I'll try a re-fit on Tuesday night and see if I can get it working.

The only alternative is an S4 facelift wheel which has the cutouts and flat spots and would fit perfectly but that would mean selling what I have in-hand already.

Which plastic tabs, when you remove your wheel next, take a pic & post it as I've not had an issue, also note facelift wheels have different wiring, so you may have to change other components to make the newer style button arrangements work fully or at all.

There are black plastic tabs on the slip ring.

NHN I have seen the requirement mentioned but not the procedure. How would I go about removing the connector from the TT FBSW I have and fitting the factory connector in its place?
From the following pictures you can see that the airbag connector on the FBMFSW is not the same as the factory connector.

Turned out fine in the end, the FBSW does fit in the gap but pushes the plastic tabs on the slipring out the way so it was all ok.

    Installed and working perfectly now.
