I assume you mean the Avant, if so, apparently there are only 4 or 5 bolts but you have to remove the head lining. Audi wanted about £700 labour as I guess it has something to do with Airbags too
If you mean the roof bars fitted to some cars, then yes they're semi permanent as in if you remove then you have some nice holes to weld shut, flatten, paint etc, so in that respect more permanent than not.
Just out of interest, why do you want to remove them? There are four bolts that attach each rail.Curtain airbags have to be disconnected I guess hence the labour costs...£700 labour is about four hours work at my local stealer....Id go to a VAG independant if you want them off
