when the key is removed should the handbrake automatically apply its self?

wife got out of the car a couple of month ago only to see car roll down the drive into the garage door.

not the 1st time car has rolled after key removed and doors locked.

I found the car "luckily tyre wedged against the kerb no damage" down the road after popping into newsagents..

mare!

Not unless you have the auto hold... I have to manually apply mine each time I park and turn the car off.

I always think that, i keep have to double check that i have put it on, It should just be a standard thing.

I have to apply mine.

I always leave it in 1st gear anyway, ever since watching my Leon cross the carpark at work :)

I believe its supposed to auto apply, I would not trust it though. I would like to know if its possible to get a retrofit and remove what is possibly the worst design feature of any car on the road today.

Whats ridiculous is my missus cmax e-brake does this as soon as key is removed, which I find brilliant tbh considering these ****** italians dont know the word handbrake, so I find it hard to believe vag doesnt.

Doesn't auto-apply on the Dynamik, i speak from experience

Buy an S-tronic and never have this problem!!
