Hi All!

My A4 is going in for a Full Service with Audi and they wany £59 for a replacement Air Filter.
Would it be cheaper/better to get a replacement K&N or similiar brand?
Also where is the best place to get one from. I can't find any on the net.

Whats best and what kind of benefits are there?

If any improve the noise it would be a benefit!

Thanks in Advance!

I recently had the same dilemma and bought a K&N. The K&N is about half the width of the original OEM which I believe gives better air flow, there is a noticeable difference whilst driving also. Now don't get me wrong I'm not claiming big BHP gains I would say more just better response from throttle. Worth while getting one for economics alone, K&N is cheaper than OEM (think I paid £55) and you get million mile warranty.

I have used a few different 1's over the years and find K & N and pipercross to be the best.

They are the easiest to keep clean and to oil after.

my air filter cost £18 inc vat from audi, so they want 40 odd quid to fit???

I have had my a4 remapped by superchips and im using a pipercross element filter in my 1.8tfsi seems to be whole lot better than the old paper one that was quite restrictive. Also given it a slightly louder induction noise only cost about £35 onlinr
