After searching through the forum I'm still struggling to find the answer. So thought I'd start a new thread.

I have the mmi 3g i think in my 2009 b8, I have no IPod dock or cable in the glove box. my question is should this bit of kit come as standard or was it an option.

Its not a standard fit.
If you search for AMI (Audi Music Interface) you will be able to read more about it.
It can be retro fitted but it's a few 100 quid

Is there a small port in the glove box, top left? Some models have AMI but the cable is missing.

No port in the glove box jpm, think it will be as abyzz suggests retro fit.
