    Need some help/advice

    Ok where do i start.

    1. Rust spots. The car is covered in small rust spots. even under the bonnet and on none exposed surfaces. Looks like iron contamination in the paint. My car sits next to my wifes white Ford and it has no issues at all. Its never parked at work or has even been anywhere near anything that would cause such an issue. (Its a 2011 4000 mile A4 in Ibis white).
    2. The car is off to Audi today for them to look at so thats one area. The next is more worrying.
    3. I took the car for a large local body shop to have a look at the rust spots, it was they who said 'get it back to Audi mate' and at the same time asked who had done the dodgy respray!!!!!!!! Upon very close inspection i could see what he was talking about. The rear left hand bumper area has what looks like a not too good 'smart style man in a van' respray. Now I have owned this car from brand new and tbh even though i clean it every week have never really noticed. I could see some shadowing but never though too much about it. Now I have seen it it stands out like ****.

I have never had a bash bump or scrape thats been sorted on any of my cars that i would have entrusted to a 'smart style repair'. I have NEVER had this car repaired. How the hell do i prove that though? I am absolutely fuming. 35k is a lot for a car and to have rust spots on the paint and now this i have just lost total confidence in Audi. I sincerely hope they put things right over the course of the week but i can see the reply.

'Must have been you mate'. But i hope not as I had high hopes for the brand.

Anyone any idea where i would stand?????

    Help

Anyone else experienced anything like this???

The other topic being discussed the now might offer a good explanation (think its something to do with sparking). However my reply is more to do with the dealership. I just had some paintwork done under warrenty at specialist cars and although the paint doesn't seem to bad the job as a whole was pretty poor and customer service even worse. What dealership are you going through?

Highland Audi. I had to drop the car at Hawco this morning for one of their drivers to pick it up to drive it to Inverness as I work away all week. So fortunately I dont need it through the week.

I am gutted that these things have happened. To be honest if they can cure the rust spots which i am sure they can with Iron X or suchlike and replace the bumper then i would be a mighty happy chappy and all would be good in my world again. (lol).

I love the car and it drives fanatastic but thats no reason to accept shoddy paint.

Well thats me been well and truly told where I stand as far as Highland Audi goes.

Rust spots 'not their problem' despite the fact the car is cleaned inside and out including the engine bay area every week.

Re spray Apparently I have had it done s they wouldnt have done such a repair....Oh Excuse me I must have done it in my sleep or whilst offshore!!

Buy another Audi?? Not in this lifetime!

Speak to Audi CS directly rather than the dealership! The car is under warranty so the rust spots should be sorted. As for the bumper ... that's going to be a tough one, but again put your case to Audi directly, in writing and see what they come back with!
Audi Northampton, Audi Ipswich, and Audi UK are rubbish and lack the basic skills of customer service.
Please read my posts about my experience, and I hope this helps you to make the decision not to buy an Audi 2.0 TDi 170 engine, they are not fit for purpose and the tolerance levels are a joke.

    Done and done.

I can almost accept the rust spots but the respray no bloomin way. The only reason i spotted it was because i noticed shadowing and thought we had had a bump in a car park so I clayed the area to check for anything alse and lo and behold a respray!!!

If as you say the repair was done by Audi prior to you picking it up as a new car, then they should have record of it, and therefore make good on it as well.

Keep us posted and good luck.

I would get a report from a VBRA member body shop then submit that to Audi UK and Highland Audi.
    i'm sure Ashgrove are members.
i don't know how you can prove the repair wasn't done after delivery except your word but as said previously, any repair should be logged against the VIN number.

I bought my previous A4 from them and had ok service.

    Good luck. Kev.

I spoke with Audi customer services. Very different attitude. Actually treated me as a valued customer instead of an inconvenience (thats how i felt). I understand Audi's position completely and they mine. However a little customer care and even an offer to meet half way would be fine as neither can prove the other is at fault.

I have not found the experience of Highland Audi very good at all. I can only hope this will change.

    I will keep you posted

I haven't spoken to anybody that rates an Audi dealership, I even had one fail to organise a test drive, and this was with cash in my pocket! My recommendation (as per others) is to get an independent inspection, I forked out for one (found a pro detailer) on mine and fair play the dealers took note and addressed all the issues even though most of them weren't visible to non-pro's. Just a pity it took two months of grief to get to that point.

Most dealerships are a waste of time, and don't bother! I visited 4 local dealerships all where useless, spoke to Guildford Audi, again not very good, but I'd stumble on Northampton Audi and a sales guy called Tim Aylen, he was actually really helpful even though the car I went to look at got sold while I was on route! Ended up buying brand new for the same money as the 1 year old one. So there are some good dealerships, just hard to find!!

    Update on damage.

Between myself and Highland Audi we have ascertained that the bumper damage and repair was not caused by them. Great work by Highland Audi!!!! I retract any derogatory remarks I may have directed toward them.

Following a lot of sleuthing and detective work I pinned the damage and repair to a secure car park that I used. One of the employees crashed it or into it and got it repaired by a 'smart' repair company. Basically hid it. I managed to get proof and pursued the company. They have offered a full and correct Audi repair (replacement bumper etc) and staff have been disciplined in the severest manner. Bear in mind the car was only 6 month old and 3000 miles at the time of the accident.

Result! or it is in my book. Car back to as new at their cost. Any damage found during inspection will also bee repaired.

How did you guess. Give the owner his due. He is horrified and is paying for new bumper and full audi repair. I am entitled to a hell of a lot more according to solicitor. But we all make mistakes. I just didn't like finding out like this. So long as the car is back to as new condition I will be happy ish. I am also asking for a full professional valet and recompense for time and stress caused to me and my wife. Don't ever ask your wife if she bumped your car and hid it. Lol

Still have to ask how did you/highland Audi find out about it? and also what about the rust spots?

The amount of negative press about that place. Written off RS4's, bangs and knocks all over the place. Surprised they tried to hide it to be honest, must be upping their game.

Just use the long stay opposite bristows, once your registered as an offshore worker you get a healthy discount anyway. There is a place to stamp your ticket in the heliport, and it registers your number plate. Beware though, if you don't, it'll be about £120 for your 2 weeks.

Yep. Bad mistake on the wife front. Box of chocolates and an ipad might sort that one out, lol.

Ok the full story. As the weather is warming up(hahahahaha) I started to notice an area of shadowing on the left rear area of the bumper. I had it looked at bya local body shop who stated it had been resprayed. As I owned the car from new and hadnt had it resprayed i thought initially they were taliking rubbish. I had it looked at by a 2nd body shop who confirmed the same. So...I sent it back to the dealer blaming them. They in turn inspected it and stated that it had been in an accident and had had a not to good repair that was starting to deform over time. Now i only use the car at weekends as i work abroad. The only time it has not been in my wife or my posesion was twice at a secure car park. Note to all DONT BLAME THE WIFE!!!!!! I contacted them and asked who they used for repairs. I then contacted the resprayer they recommended and upon mentioning the car they said they remembered it as they had resprayed it following an accident it had been involved in in the car park!!! FFS thinks I. I have since contacted the car park and he has made good. i am having a complete new bumper fitted at their cost following a full inspection by Highland Audi. So it pays to persevere people.
