To REVO or not to REVO

    Hi all

I have had my A4 for just over a month and I'm considering getting it remapped but am unsure weather its safe to do so. I want the extra power but I'm worried about it damaging the car. I got a 1 years warranty when i bought the car in December, will it make it void?

What are peoples experience with REVO remaps? And do I have anything to worry about?

Hope someone can shed some light on the subject.

Just had the car revo'd 2 days ago. Despite some initial hiccups (ecu has to come out) it was done and I am delighted. No idea what NHL or torque I an getting as I was too tight on time to dyno it. Will get it done tho. Personally I am delighted. Much stronger everywhere and the fuel economy is better during normal driving.

Please don't take this the wrong way but what ever map you got you would love it.

It's more grunt and more efficiency and hence it's good....but unless you try different maps it's hard to say whether it's better or worse than the competition. Of course the way the power is delivery can vary hugely from one which has a surge and feels fast to one that's smooth and doesn't feel exciting but could be faster than the big bang approach.

We all know that pay someone to make your car go better will (or at least should) put a smile on your face. However how does it compare to the other maps is much harder to find out and comment on.

    Thanks for the info.

Im not really concerned about who's map is the best. I'm more concerned, as a newbie in this field, about losing my warranty and damaging me car.

Should I be worried or are these safe as houses.

It's been posted many many times but you don't lose your warranty for modifications.

If your modification causes an issue then it won't be covered. Seems reasonable don't it!

If you try and claim and Audi have to spend a lot of time and money to demonstrate it was your mod then you could be liable for the costs they incurr. Seems reasonable too.

If you're not interested in who's map is best then why are you bothering? Surely everyone wants to get best value and least risk with what they choose ? No ?

    sorry i didn't explain enough.

I have pretty much decided to go with REVO as they are very highly recommended, i was seeking answers which you have given me in your last post.

The only other thing is does anyone know of any maps that have caused damage? and whats the likely hood.

FYI , REVO normally can upload a trial remap free of charge, lasts a few hours and then dies off. Worth a try.

    Fair point.

With out seeing all the A/F ratios, boost pressures etc we simply don't know. It's one of the reasons I've been asking how do Revo achieve their numbers if no one else can?
