Thread: S4 - How many miles to a tank do you get

I wondered about this before I got the S4 and I'm curious to see what everyone else is getting. Even when I drive carefully the mpg is a million miles off book :-)

I have still to hit more than 300 miles to a full tank. (just until the fuel light comes on, although it drops quick once its on unlike other cars)

How many do you get.

between 270 and 300 for me, fuel grade dependant.

When i get the fuel light come on i have 30 miles left, not much of a warning imo.

I take it back, 310 miles until the fuel light came on today lol

not to sure how much I get from a tank but my average MPG is 17

You are doing VERY well. In my 8 or so months of ownership, I have NEVER got 300 miles from a tank of fuel and thats using different driving styles. The max I have had is 270 and thats the car being driven sensibly.

I think I could hit 330 if I try hard. Lets see

Nobody else over 300 yet? so much for the started 40mpg in extra urban lol

326 miles is the highest I have done so far (S-Tronic box). Averaging 22MPG and around 260-270 a tank

Only done 8000 miles so far though, i dont think its fully run in till about 10-15k

Did a long journey the other day and got 340 which pushed the refilled full tank measure up to 370 miles.

I got something between 270 miles and 350 miles, depended on the nature of the journey and my driving style. Once the fuel range said 0 miles in the computer, I managed to squeeze another 16 miles odd out of it (very gingerly on the gas pedal, and avoid any braking!!). When i filled it up, the pumps said 58.6L!!! Audi claim the fuel tank is 60L, so I think it was a very close call!!!

Not sure how many miles to a tank, but I average 23.7mpg over the last 10k miles. On a long journey I easily get 26mpg. Agree on poor fuel range though, especially the little warning if 30m! Crawled along m4 the other day with zero miles left and filled up with 59.4L... Close one???!

Have been reading this with interest as I have just ordered an S4 avant Black edition for march delivery and with the new updates it is meant to be capable of nearly 35mpg combined, if this is the case it'll be the most economical car I have ever owned!! - I think this maybe a tad optimistic even with the stop/start and revised steering.

Can't wait whatever the fuel consumption!

usually get about the same, overall average is ~28.4 at the moment.

PS. put more than 60L in before so I am guessing the tank is bigger than 60!

Or you were at a dodgy petrol station.

My fuel economy is going right down just now. Not sure if its the bad weather. Seem to be getting about 270 to a tank

well, Audi quote 61L for the tank.

I think the most I have put in is ~62, but then again, I always find that the stated tank capacities are under reality, I assume they play safe and also don't include the pipework etc.

Consumption wise, getting 300+ pretty much all the time now, the more miles that go on it, the better it's becoming.

Yep, I can vouch for over 61L plus on fill up........ Mind you I don't think I'll push it that far again... I remember thinking, as the rain was pissing down, why are you such a knob Ian (don't all agree ) why didn't you just fill up at that petrol station in town,, instead of 'seeing' if I could make it home...!!!

When I bought my current car, Audi specialist told me it had a 50mile reserve tank. Thus when you hit 0 miles you have this safety limit. I've not yet had the balls to try it out yet.... and this is only what I was told so can't guarantee it.
