Thread: will i void my warranty if i take the ECU off to remap my car ?

Hello, i own a audi a4 2.0 tfsi quattro 211 bhp saloon manual 2011 and i am thinking of getting it remapped but the
ECU is locked and the only way to remap it is to take off the ECU and remap it that way but will Audi be able to tell if the ECU has been tampered with and void my warranty ?

if you replace the bolts when you put the ECU back in they wont know its been removed, and i cant see them looking specificly to see if you removed it unless you had an problem with it, the ecu is hidden away under your scuttle panel so i cant see how if you went in for a small service.

The rules are fair to both sides :

If your modification causes an issue then don't expect it to be covered by the warranty.....otherwise it's no different.

p.s. Don't forget to sort your insurance out if you remap it.

If the dealer suspects they will not work on the car. If this happens take or elsewhere lol
