Thanks for the response - I had this up on 2 other forums and 1 rated this (states side) and the other flamed me down! (more mature, non modding enthusiasts with possibly lease car amongst the group)...fair comments though

I had this professionally painted - sanded down for smooth finish...for the DIY amongst you, the emblem is held by 3 or 4 prongs that are glued at the end - you can see this under the felt lining. Avoid trying to melt the glue as you will most likely to melt everything else...best to saw off the ends slightly for perfect removal and re-fit.

Also, avoid the 'modified' R8 oil caps - our Audi B8s uses the standard cap from the dealership (lesson learnt with a modded spare for other VAG cars!)

R8 Coolant cap next then??
