phone cradle? help!!!!!! lol

hi guys im new to the forum and to audi's so please excuse what is probably a stupid question.

i picked the a4 sline quattro up today and it has a craddle fitted to the passenger side of the dash for a phone adaptor to clip into but have no idea what generation cradle it is and would like to get an iphone adaptor for the car as i cant seem to get the two to pair for this crazy cradle.

can anyone shed some light my way please?

I believe the factory fit cradle goes under the armrest is this a non original equipment phone cradle?

wrong model car i thinks, the car is registered in june 2007 but i think the car is one of the last b7 models as there is no arm rest fitted. the phone cradle is a factory add on and may just look at removing but might leave holes in the dash. something i dont really want though
