as it says above really, my breaks are squeaking, not all the time and mainly at very low speeds. i had new front disks and pads fitted last year but just wondered if anyone could tell me what causes them to squeak? and how to fix them?

thanks guys.

Squeaking is a normal reaction of the BRAKE DISCS when the pad is new and just wearing in. The pad material is worn away by the braking action, in the process causing brake dirt. This gets on the rotor, or drum, causing the brakes to squeak. In time this will go away as the brakes wear in together.

OR...Copper grease the pads or have the clips adjusted for the pads.

Had it a few times, just go to garage have them take the pads out and copper grease them, tends to get rid of it mate.

Its the most common cause of squeal.
