    3.0tdi quattro auto

am i right in thinking all quattro auto will be tiptronic and not the poor perception/review of multitronic?

any issues with these, do they have a cam chain?
anything to take note on used examples at circa 80k on a 2005 plate?

what do you think is a good price for a 2005, 3.0tdi avant with about 80k?
i'm not really one to look at such high mileage cars due to more expense on maintenance and resale value of being such a high miler

    opinions?

Yes the 3.0 Tdi has a cam chain, yes i beleive the quattro is tiptronic, i have manual but i have driven the 3.0 tdi auto and to be honest prefer manual.( although its a rarity)

To be honest mate 80k is nothing on a 3.0 Tdi V6 as long as its been regularly serviced and looked after, i would say your looking at anywhere between Ł11-13k depending on spec/condition etc

Remember the 3.0 tdi v6 quattro is a rare engine and they dont come up very often.

    Thanks
I assume cam chain doesn't require change?
Never had a tdi but any issues with the diesel particle filter etc?

Having a dsg as the main car, we're looking at autos

apart from the normal oil change and filters etc what are the big services?

I have a 2005 3.0tdi manual, I bought it a year ago with 80k on it. I've had no issues so far. I paid Ł11k with FASH from an independant dealer. The cam chain doesn't require changing. I beleive the 2005 doesn't have a DPF but I can't be 100% certain on that. The only thing I will say is they eat tyres but that seems to the same on all audi's. Good luck with the search.

Ref the servicing, main dealers for a major service is approx Ł400 - Ł450 is. Specialist Ł300 ish. I do mine myself, using genuine parts and castrol edge oil, Ł150.

I love the 3.0 tdi avant b7, economical even for a V6 3.0, certainly way more than a R32 guzzler, also its roomy, 4wd & the tip is perfect tbh for less stress whilst driving & especially with kids as no need to flaff about with clutch/gear changes huh.

    IIRC there is a 205 & 233 version no?

I still lust after 1 of these since I got shot of my S4 B6 Avant few years ago.

    3.0tdi quattro auto

Quite different from what I've read. My manual one averages 35mpg upto 40 on a run. Really pleased with it.

I need a new chain tensioner on my 2005 110k car, a bit pissed off as it has full dealer history. Just one of those things I'm told!

Have a drive think you'll be impressed. Wish I'd tried an auto, but I wanted the extra performance and economy of the manual.

i've driven a 3.0d auto in bmw guise, nice and easy. performance isn't going to be rev happy like the petrol, but economy is better.

think performane and mpg is a good combo.
my R32 average is circa 25mpg. so another average of 10mpg is good.
