A step too far? Smoked Film on Headlights......

I think that is too far especially because you've got that fancy HID kit and now you've darkened the lights. The Police in this neck of the woods would probably pull your car over and give you hassle.

I would remove them and send me some free mesh grills.
 
I think they look good. As mentioned above, providing the Old Bill won't give you any grief I'd leave them on.
I guess it's very much down to personal taste though.
 
If you want to tint them slightly just get some Lamin-x, its far less obvious :)

I was really worried that you'd then put on a fat exhaust, drive around with your window down while playing loud, bad taste music, and stick some "FEAR" stickers in your rear window :)
 
Actually it would look better if the wheels were maybe anth or black, tints look fine to me.
