Avant Load Cover

Over the past 6 months or so my avant load cover seems to have lost its power on the spring. Its very annoying as the load cover is never tight and also if i go over bumps it bounces free and closes.

I have 8E9 863 553 94H

Anyone ever serviced one? I guess it needs some grease, but I can’t find out how to open it up?

Anyone ever bought a new one? I can’t find a price anywhere, and can’t see any on flea bay

I have seen them on ebay from time to time, just had a quick look but can't see any right now.

Have you tried a search in the B6 forum? I have heard of this problem before, but can't remember what the outcome was.
