Hi.

I have just got myself a 2005 A4 Avant 2.0t Quattro and have a few questions.

It has 53k miles on the clock, i want to get it in for a service as soon as possible, (so that i know everything is ok) is it worth doing the 60k service a little early? Anyone have any prices on this? My local dealer has quoted £380.00

There is a driving noise, like road noise from about 40-60mph and i guess (totally random guess) its the bearings on the way out, any ideas on this or the costs? anything to check to get any more idea's?

The engine has no plastic trim on? Dont know why, but dose anyone know the part number for a new one? and any cheap places to get one?

I also want to install a centre arm rest, anyone know any cheap places to get one?

Thanks

Steve

Congratulations and welcome!

Have you tried any breakers? AllAudi and 4ringspares for instance?

Or Vagparts have OEM parts at less than dealer prices, and are very helpful.

This thread may help on the engine trim, but it's for a B6 so be careful before ordering:

Here is the Bay in my B7 A4 Avant 2.0T FSI Quattro

according to the parts details i have
only the pollen filter cover is listed for the quattro on a B6
and its 8E2 819 447 A 01C so that wont cover the whole scuttle / pendulum chamber like on the B7

No Battery cover for the 4 cylinder engines quattro engines.

Engine cover is listed as 06D 103 925 A

Well i have ordered a few parts from Audi, so i will see what fits..

Main cover 8E2 819447 01C
Battery cover 8E2819422

And the Audi 2.0FSI Turbo engine cover, It looks bad without it... Its just worrying as to why its missing...

It looks like there should be a cover there as at the moment its full of dead trees, and im sure the battery should have a cover for safety...

I spoke to my mate who has a 07 A4 and his is the same. However is that cover fits let me know as i'd love to cover it all up like on the B6

Well been and got my parts... and they fit!!!

Think they look Good...

Had to remove one cover from the near side, but the new cover covers this up, but i cant rem what was under it - was to excited to get this one fitted... At some point this weekend i am going to remove them again and clean out all the crap thats made its way into that gap over the past few years.

Will let you know if they are "still" there when i make it home!

Think This picture has shown how much it needs a clean under there

Did you need any clips or anything

and are the part numbers quoted the ones shown on the invoice?

thats awesome

i know what im ordering now

Looking good there, the covers do make all the different don't they.

I think you could do with the RS4 cover for the nearside as well to finish it off. It's £9.78 + VAT from VAG Parts or about £12 + VAT from a dealer. The part number is 8E0103927F and you can see it fitted in this thread:- http://www.audi-sport.net/vb/showthread.php?t=40863

Will defo fit the B7 too as it's from the RS4.

Nothing at all, no tools and about 30sec to fit..

Just had to pull out the other cover from the right, but that just pulled out,..
